How many Rak’as of Witr (a prayer which is not Fard (obligatory) which is usually prayed after Isha’ to end the prayers of a day and night) shall I pray to end the optional late-night prayers?

Answer

Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.

You can pray many Rak’as of Witr, but they should be uneven (an odd number of Rak’as). In other words, it is not demanded to pray only three; you can pray one Rak’a, three or even five as the word witr means in Arabic odd and uneven. It depends on your ability. Whoever does good, it will be better for them.
