What is the ruling on reciting the Holy Qur’an by distributing the parts for example to friends or to WhatsApp group members having the intention of asking Allah to cure a patient?

It was not reported that the prophet or his companions did so. However, there are narrations which tell that giving charity for this intention (to cure a patient) is acceptable. Thus, giving charity for this goal is much preferred. Still, having such a WhatsApp group to urge people to recite parts of the Holy Qur’an is thankful and acceptable. Reciting the Holy Qur’an makes people closer to Allah, and thus, they can ask Him to give them what they ask for.
