I would like to tell you my story. I am a girl, and I made a friendship with another girl via Instagram. We became friends, but her mother did not want that. This is because her mother does not trust online friendship. I am a righteous girl, and I usually advise my friends to do good deeds. My friend used to tell her mother about me, but her mother insisted that we must not stay in touch. She prevented her daughter from talking to me. Other friends tried to convince the mother. However, their efforts were in vain. Can my friend and I communicate secretly without telling the mother
Answer
Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.
I think you had better respect the mother’s will who does not want you to communicate with her daughter. You should not communicate secretly even if you offer good advice to your friend. Doing that will teach the daughter to disobey her mother, deceive her and lie to her. If you insist on keeping this friendship, ask your common friends who may convince the mother. If she is convinced, it will be good for both of you; otherwise, you should respect her desire and stop trying.
