What is the ruling on eating fruit that has been vowed to other than Allah

Answer

Making a vow to other than Allah is prohibited in Islam, and such a vow is invalid and does not have to be fulfilled. if an animal is slaughtered as an offering to other than Allah, it is impermissible to eat it, as it falls under the Qur’anic prohibition of animals over which a name other than allah has been invoked. However, if the vow concerns other types of food, the person may eat it because the vow itself is invalid.
