I fell in love with a guy who told me that he would meet my parent and ask him to marry me once he visits the city where I live. He asked me to send him some of my photos and I did. A week ago, he told me that he could not afford marriage. He also told me that he was just a playful man. Thus, I put an end to that relation and regretted doing that. However, I am worried that he may keep my photographs to make use of them. What shall I do?
Answer
Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.
To confess that what you did was wrong is something virtuous. It is a chance to learn that you should stay far from such people. You should be cautious and not believe their sneaky words. Many playful guys deceive girls by telling them that their final goal is to marry. However, their final goal maybe immoral. Many girls, unfortunately, have been deceived.
Regarding your story, it would be better if you tell a trustworthy family member to help you and stand beside you in case that guy extorts you. Do not loose courage to resist and fight all kinds of blackmail. You can also inform cybercrime office to help you. Do not worry, they are trustworthy and will keep your file secret.
