Can the mother take the responsibility of distributing inheritance according to her point of view taking into account that her children will not disobey her as they respect her?
Answer
Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.
In terms of inheritance, Allah has appointed a share for each heir. Such distribution is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, and thus, it is considered final. Therefore, none has the right to distribute shares according to what they see. Allah says: “And whosoever transgresses the set limits of Allah, then indeed he has wronged himself.” At-Talaq: 1
If you mean that the mother takes the responsibility of distributing shares according to Islamic law, then it is approved. Otherwise, none should obey her. The prophet said: “A creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the Creator.”
