Is staying in the courtyards of mosques considered a firm hold?

Answer

Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.

If it is meant to stay in the courtyards waiting the other prayer, it is a firm hold depending on what the prophet (PBUH) said: “and waiting after one prayer for the next prayer. That is the firm hold, that is the firm hold, that is the firm hold.”

If it is meant to stay in the courtyards to defend the mosque against any probable attacks and to protect it, it is also a firm hold.

However, if one stays in the courtyards without performing any good deed such as the above-mentioned ones, this is not considered a firm hold.
