Is there a specific time to recite Al-Baqarah Chapter?

Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.

It is recommended to increase the recitation of the Holy Qur’an whether at night or during the day. Moreover, there are several prophetic Hadiths which indicate the virtue of reciting Al-Baqarah Chapter, such as: “Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it.” Related by Muslim.

Another prophetic Hadith is: “Satan runs away from the house in which Surah Baqara is recited.” Related by Muslim.

There is no specific time to recite this chapter; so people can recite it at their convenient times; however, reciting verses of the Holy Qur’an at the last third of the night is much preferred regardless of the chapter. Allah says: “Not all of them are alike; a party of the people of the Scripture stand for the right, they recite the Verses of Allah during the hours of the night, prostrating themselves in prayer. (Al-Imran: 113).
