My grandparents have died in Palestine. They have many real estates (lands), and my father died two months ago, can we claim our share in their inheritance?
Answer
Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.
Actually, you can claim your father’s share from his parents’ inheritance; then, once you own his portion, you have to divide it fairly amongst you according to Islamic teachings: to the male a portion equal to that of two females. Being far from your home land does not prevent you from getting your portion of inheritance.
