What is the ruling if a woman’s feet appear to others (strange men who are not considered amongst her Mahrams) or if her feet appear as she prays?
Answer
Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.
Referring to your question, the majority of Muslim scholars see that a woman should not show her feet to strangers, nor should she show them while she prays. They are considered ‘Awrah (a part of the body which should not be shown). Men also should not intend to look at them. However, some other scholars see that feet are not ‘Awrah. Nevertheless, the first opinion is the most truthful one.
