When going to Al-Aqsa Mosque, shall I keep praying and reciting the Holy Qur’an, or shall I help people and assist in keeping discipline? Which deed is better?
Answer
Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.
If there are appointed committees whose main job is to keep discipline and distribute foods and drinks to people who pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque, it will be better for you to keep praying and performing many acts of worship such as making supplications and reciting the Holy Qur’an. However, if there are no official committees, and there is a need for volunteers, you can be one of those volunteers who serve people and keep discipline. You have to keep balance. In other words, try to perform acts of worship, and help others. Therefore, you will receive different rewards from Allah: some of which are because you pray and recite the Holy Qur’an; others are because you serve people.
