What is the ruling on eating the meat of an animal on which Allah’s name has not been uttered at the time of slaughtering?

Answer

Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.

The International Islamic Fiqh Academy, in their tenth summit held in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, decided that Muslims who visit or reside in non-Muslim countries are permitted to eat meat of animals which were slaughtered by people of Scripture (Jews and Christians) as long as these slaughtered animals are pure from any impure substances. However, if Muslims have a valid evidence that such animals were not slaughtered according to any religious rule; in other words, the animal was suffocated, or electrocuted, they cannot eat its meat. This is decision No. 95 (3/10).

Finally, you can refer to Islamic communities or centers in the countries where you want to travel to ask about this issue as surely, they have answers to your questions and ideas about meat factories there.
