I am in love with a young guy who is not older than twenty. We are very far from committing adultery; however, we go out together to eat and have fun. Marriage is not possible at the moment. However, I start thinking about wearing hijab, thus, I am confused. I do not want to end this relationship which seems fruitless; nevertheless, I fear Allah. What can I do?
Answer
Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.
According to your status, you put yourself under two options which cannot be combined: either to obey Allah, or to disobey Him. It is up to you whether to follow the right or wrong path. Getting out with a man who is not your husband, nor is he any of your mahrams is haram; you acknowledge that he is unable to marry you; therefore, what you do is formally haram and a waste of time as well as morals. You are disobeying Allah clearly. If you continue, be ready to His Punishment.
However, I would like to commend you on your good intentions of wearing the hijab and going back to the right path. This is the pure innate that you have. Take care of it, water this good seed, and ask Allah to help you; keep praying to Him to protect you from the bad guys who may mislead you.
