Question

Reference number: 807489 | Fasting | May 19, 2019

Is it allowed to go to the dentist in the month of Ramadan while fasting to have my teeth filled?

Answer

Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.

Referring to your question, teeth filling or teeth pulling do not break the fast as long as the patient does not swallow any medical substance or even blood.

The Higher Palestinian Legal Verdict Council has decided that teeth treatment does not break the fast; thus, it is allowed to drill, fill, or even pull teeth provided that they must be sure not to swallow any medical substance or even blood.
