What is the ruling on marrying a milk-brother?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon the noblest of all creation, our master Muhammad, the trustworthy, and upon his family and all his companions.
To proceed:
With reference to your question quoted above, your mother’s breastfeeding of your maternal aunt’s son makes him her son through breastfeeding (rada‘ah). Accordingly, all her sons and daughters are his milk-siblings, regardless of whether they were breastfed during the same period.
The position followed in Palestine by the Dar al-Ifta and the Sharia courts is the Hanafi school of jurisprudence, according to which both a small and a large amount of breastfeeding establish the prohibition of marriage.
Accordingly, you are not permitted to marry your maternal aunt’s son, as he is your milk-brother.
And Allah speaks the truth, and He guides to the right path.
