What is the ruling on reciting the Holy Qur’an while standing or walking?

Answer

Praise Be to Allah and Peace Be Upon His Messenger.

Referring to you question, Allah says: “Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides,” (Al-Imran: 191). And He also says: “remember Allah standing, sitting down, and (lying down) on your sides,” (An-Nisa’: 103).

Remembering Allah comprises all forms of mentioning Him as glorifying Him, Praising Him, or reciting the Qur’an. Thus, a Muslim can recite the Holy Qur’an standing, sitting down or lying down. There is no harm in reciting Qur’an standing, walking or lying down.

Nevertheless, it is much better to recite the Holy Qur’an while sitting down, facing Qiblah, full of humbleness and obedience.
